The Hour of Twilight (Andrew Ochtinsky's conflicted copy 2016-11-01)

"The master calls, echoing death and destruction across the globe. The earth bellows, fissures devouring the weak and the strong alike. The wind howls, snatching up bodies like leaves in the breeze. The water screams, shearing coastlines with the ease of scythe through grain. The fire roars, turning plains and forests to charcoal and ash. The Draakhorn sounds, and all of Faerun will hear its call. Add your Voice to our glorious chorus, For it is the song that will end the world."

-Severin Silrajin, Grand Wyrmspeaker of the Cult of the Dragon

It is the Year of the Warrior Princess, 1489 by the Dale Reckoning calendar, and Faerun is weary of war, conflict, and the Era of Upheaval. The last century has seen the birth and death of gods, the shattering of kingdoms, and the Sundering of the very Weave of magic itself. Through the last generation, much that was lost has been refound, though perhaps in a different form, and not without great cost to life and the legacy of the ages. In the streets of Her cities, and in the rolling grain of Her fields, the common folk return to hopeful normality, in the high towers of the sages and scholars, there is concern. Read in the winds of a summer that was perhaps too hot, and in the portents of a winter that may be as harsh as any in living memory, in the birth of strange calves and the ripples that pass across the Weave... something is coming.

Dramatis Personae

Heroes

Arl Seldon - Male Gold Elven wizard (bladesinger) 1
  • Region; Evermeet: Far over the western ocean lies the fabulous isle of Evermeet, final refuge and stronghold of the gold, silver, and green elves.
Whistle - Female Lightfoot Halfling rogue 1
  • Region; The Sword Coast (Delimbyr Vale): The broad River Delimbyr flows from the mountainous upland of the deep Nether Mountains, through teh verge of the High Forest and then through ancient human kingdoms before emptying to the sea. Along the way it passes through some of the most verdant farmland and towns in the North, the roads of which are crisscrossed by dozens of halfling caravans every year.
Frey - Male Illuskan Human barbarian 1
  • Region; The Sword Coast (Ruathym): Stretching from Luskan in the north to Baldur's Gate in the south, the Sword Coast is a region of isolated city-states, fiercely competitive in commerce and prone to open brigandage.
Aurora - Female Dark Elf cleric 1
  • Region; Shadowfell (Evernight): The dismal echo of Neverwinter located in the Shadowfell. It is a city of the undead and those that trafficked with them — unhinged necromancers, slave traders, and followers of dark deities.
Stathos Surefang - Male Green Dragonborn ranger 1
  • Region; Mere of Dead Men: Mere of Dead Men (or Merdelain, meaning "Slow Marching Court" in Elvish) was a cold saltwater swamp area located along the Sword Coast North. It is a domain of dragonkin, lizardmen, and bullywugs overseen by the watchful eye of a near mythical black dragon.
Leannan - Female Wood Elf druid 1
  • Region; Misty Forest (Illefarn): Located just west of the High Moor and south of the river Delimbiyr, the forest gets its name because of the mists and fogs which creep down from the High Moor, making navigation difficult on even the best of days. It is the realm of the wood elven remnant and their allies, ruled over by their druid king Melandrach.

Setting Information

  • Neverwinter; A once prosperous merchant city in the far north of Faerun on the Sword Coast, Neverwinter is rebuilding after a generation of war and strife. Ruled by the Lord Protector Dagult Neverember, this city has served as the launching point of many successful (and far more dramatically short and unsuccessful) ventures into the wilds of the Savage North
  • Phandalin; A human city once located northeast of Leilon, where the road that ran from the High Road to Triboar Trail faded into a trail. Once a wealthy and prosperous city under the aegis of the Phandelver Pact, it was raided by orcs in 951 DR and subsequently abandoned. Recently, settlers from the North and the Sword Coast have begun resettling the ruins and reclaiming the ancient mines of the pact, hoping to find the hidden gate of the Phandelve.
